Daemons Discuss - Podcast: Take 66! | Chapter Discussion about the All Souls Trilogy; Chapter 40 of Shadow of Night

It's time for Ysabeau to check the papers. This is photoshopped, people. We looked for an article and could not find one!

Take 66 - The One With Lovesickness

Description: Well, it seems we made it to 2010 even before Diana and Matthew did! We see what Marcus, Ysabeau and Sarah are all up to, and get a few revelations that will shock people on their first read, and continue to pain the rest of us as we all witness the various forms of lovesickness infecting Sept-Tours. There's also the pressing matter of Diana sending a message to the world 400 + years in the future via an Elizabethan mathematician/astronomer + a Huguenot clockmaker.

SPOILER ALERT! We (The Daemons) approach this podcast with an assumption that the listener has read All Souls universe books, including the trilogy (A Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night, The Book of Life), and  Time's Convert + snippits from The World of All Souls. If you haven't, and you don't mind, we certainly don't mind!  Please be advised, we will approach the television series (A Discovery of Witches) the same way as episodes are released in the US/Canada. 😊  Let's do this. *Note - this podcast is labeled 'explicit'

Topic:
Chapter 40, Shadow of Night
  • Look at us! The wagon made it to 2010 before Matthew and Diana!
  • The newspaper article ...
  • Of course credit is given to the men. πŸ˜’
  • Enter Marcus . . . getting laid didn’t calm him down any…😜
  • Phoebe; she’s given a lot of credit early on (to 1st-read reader, DEFINITELY!)
  • We decided that we spent too much in Prague; we missed a lot.
  • Phoebe and Marcus are shacking up!
  • Phoebe was rather casual about creatures — we wonder if she’s known about creatures or is she just too cool for school
  • We learn Sept-Tours has become headquarters for all of the rebel creatures
  • Marcus and his LUUUUUUUUURVE πŸ₯°πŸ’’πŸ’
  • Whoops! Ditch! πŸ’₯πŸš™
  • Ysabeau is a rather indulgent grandmother with Marcus. She would’ve smacked Matthew!
  • Ysabeau knows what’s happening here. Diana & Matthew are coming.
  • We see where Sarah is hanging out. Drinking and smoking in the round tower (full of PAPER πŸš’).
  • Jean compares Sarah and Ysabeau to the characters in Trading Places.
  • We appreciate the similarities and differences of Sarah and Ysabeau.
  • Ysabeau comforts Sarah the best way she knows how to . . . with the unvarnished truth.
  • Diana and Matthew are coming home.

* Our episode titles are a loving tribute to the show "Friends" just 'cause we love Friends and - let's face it - it's easier! Here's how one of the show creators explains their reasoning:
Jeff Greenstein: "When Marta & David & Jeff & I did 'Dream On', we used to spend a lot of time thinking about titles, because they were on-screen at the top of each episode. On "Friends", we decided that was a waste of time. We figured, why not name each episode after the thing that people will ostensibly be talking about around the water-cooler the next day?"
