Daemons Discuss - Podcast: Take 77! | Chapter Discussion about the All Souls Trilogy; Chapter 9 of The Book of Life

Didn't we all know a Cassie and Lydia? 🀬

Take 77 - The One With the Cheerleaders

Description: After everyone's apparent survival of the --now famous-- Lugnasidah party, the local coven witches who have been invited into Matthew and Diana's lives, suddenly get way more involved than anyone intended! This was the result of Diana's inadvertent burst of magic used to save young Grace's life. Suddenly, everything that Diana was saving to reveal only to Sarah is out in the open TO EVERYONE! Will the coven pass the test? Stay tuned!

SPOILER ALERT! We (The Daemons) approach this podcast with an assumption that the listener has read All Souls universe books, including the trilogy (A Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night, The Book of Life), and  Time's Convert + snippits from The World of All Souls. If you haven't, and you don't mind, we certainly don't mind!  Please be advised, we will approach the television series (A Discovery of Witches) the same way as episodes are released in the US/Canada. 😊  Let's do this. *Note - this podcast is labeled 'explicit'

Topic: Chapter 9, The Book of Life
  • Lugnasidah Party! Check! πŸ‘―‍♂️πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³
  • We go into the subject of “witchy songs”πŸ§™πŸ»‍♀️
  • Matthew wasn’t impressed with the music of the witches πŸ˜–
  • Tempranillo wine!🍷
  • Grace is the adventurous one of the Grace/John duo.
  • Men standing around dude-talking about the tree growing out of the fireplace ...
  • Matthew needed a home, family and pack. So does Diana.
  • Hey that potluck wasn’t so bad! Also, Diana does a bit of humble bragging.
  • Fernando was a hit among the witchy women!πŸ’•
  • Sarah bellows to Fernando to help her with the fire; we wonder why Sarah couldn’t do it herself? We conclude that either she's trying to yank Fernando out of the conversation, needed some comfort, or the wine got to her witchy fingers!
  • Val shares the tale of her utter panic vs. dreaming about her future family.
  • Matthew instructs Diana how to half-truth 🀣
  • Grace — like a moth to a flame! πŸ”₯
  • Diana inadvertently discloses her powers to all who were in the room …
  • Matthew has a way with the little ladies…
  • Diana’s disguising spell is a bit disheveled! She’s shiny! And she’s really absorbent. 🀭
  • We discuss the state of Diana’s weavers cords
  • Enter Corra!
  • Vivian joins them, and now they are drinking coffee. Shit just got serious. ☕️
  • Diana explains her familiar, the fact that she’s a weaver, and basically all of it.
  • Sarah slags off Stephen’s powers; we proceed to psychoanalyze Sarah. It’s fun and easy!
  • Vivian backs up Sarah’s assertion, but we assume it’s because Stephen had to hide his powers
  • Sarah finds out Stephen was in 1591 -- which brings us to our point: How on earth is this man considered a BASIC WITCH⁉️⁉️⁉️
  • Diana explains that weavers were killed.
  • They all examine Diana’s absorbed cords…
  • The witches can’t wait to tell the coven that Diana can make new spells, and how it will bug Cassie and Lydia! Sarah puts a stop to it. Nope. Not going to happen,
  • Abby argues that they need to be completely honest with the coven. Caleb is like “hey, this is good test for us”. Diana: FTSIO.
  • Vivian leaves the decision to disclose to Sarah.’
  • Mother Ursula’s prophecy
  • Sarah’s got bragging rights!
  • Vivian gives Diana advice on how to help SarahπŸ€”
  • SEXY TIME AND WONTONS!
  • Seer sucker shirts tend to not be what we think of when we think of sexy time!

  • LIAR
  • FIN
From Stevie Nicks, we'll always take a witchy tambourine!

* Our episode titles are a loving tribute to the show "Friends" just 'cause we love Friends and - let's face it - it's easier! Here's how one of the show creators explains their reasoning:
Jeff Greenstein: "When Marta & David & Jeff & I did 'Dream On', we used to spend a lot of time thinking about titles, because they were on-screen at the top of each episode. On "Friends", we decided that was a waste of time. We figured, why not name each episode after the thing that people will ostensibly be talking about around the water-cooler the next day?"
